Headaches are a common condition that many people deal with on a daily basis. Ranging from uncomfortable to downright unbearable, they can disrupt your day-to-day life.

Common Causes of Headache

The best way to get rid of a headache quickly may depend on what’s causing it and what type of headache it is.

A primary headache is caused by overactivity or problems with the pain-sensitive structures in your head, according to the Mayo Clinic. Common types of primary headaches include migraine attacks and tension headaches.

A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can trigger pain-sensitive nerves in the head. There are many conditions that can cause a secondary headache, from a sinus infection to a brain aneurysm to hangovers to COVID-19.

Here are some ways to get rid of Headaches.

1. Use a Cold Pack

If you have headache or migraine, place a cold ice pack on your forehead, Ice cubes wrapped in a towel or any soft cloth, A bag of frozen peas, or even a cold  shower may lessen the pain. Keep the compress on your head for 15 minutes.

2. Use a Heat Compress

If you have a tension or stress headache, place a heating pad on your neck or the back of your head. If you have sinus headache, hold a warm bag to the area that hurts.

3. Drink Water

Inadequate hydration may lead you to develop a headache. In fact, studies have demonstrated that chronic dehydration is a common cause of tension headaches and migraines. Thankfully, drinking water has been shown to relieve headache symptoms in most dehydrated individuals.

4. Get Some Caffeine

Have some coffee, Tea or something with a little coffeine in it. If you get it early enough, it could ease your headache pain. it can also help over the counter pain relivers like acetaminophen, work better. Don't drink much because caffeine withdrawal can cause it's own type of headache.

5. Practice Relaxation

Wheter it's Stretches, Yoga, Meditation, Pranayamas or Progressive muscle relaxation, learning how to out when you're in the middle of headache can help with pain.

6. Try Massage‌

You can do it yourself or even help of someone. A few minutes oil massaing your neck and temples can help ease a tension headache, which may results from stress.

7. Try a B Complex Vitamin

B vitamins are a group of water-soluble micronutrients that play many important roles in the body. For example, they contribute to neurotransmitter synthesis and help turn food into energy. Some B vitamins may have a protective effect against headaches.

8. Get a Good Sleep

Sleep deprivation can be detrimental to your health in many ways, and may even cause headaches in some people.

9. Acupuncture

Acupunture involves applying fine and sharp needles to key areas on the body as a means of promoting energy flow, it's thought to stimulate the body's natural  pain reveling compounds.
